RAO 6The Psychological Society of Kenya (PSK) joins the nation, the continent, and the world in mourning the passing of Kenya’s 2nd Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, which occurred on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, at 9:52 AM in India, while he was receiving medical treatment.

We are deeply grieved by the loss of a patriot, visionary leader, and tireless advocate for justice, democracy, and human dignity. The Rt. Hon. Odinga’s life was a living testament to resilience, courage, and unyielding devotion to the people of Kenya and to the ideals of African unity and progress.

For decades, he stood as a symbol of hope and transformation — a statesman who dared to dream of a better Kenya, where every citizen could live in dignity, equality, and peace. His journey was one marked by sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering faith in the potential of our nation.

The Psychological Society of Kenya acknowledges the profound psychological and emotional impact of this loss on our collective national consciousness. The passing of such a monumental figure inevitably evokes feelings of grief, disbelief, and deep reflection. In this moment of mourning, we call upon all Kenyans to unite in compassion, empathy, and peace — the very values that the Rt. Hon. Odinga embodied throughout his life.

May his enduring legacy continue to inspire present and future generations to lead with integrity, to serve with humility, and to believe — as he did — that a just and prosperous Kenya is possible.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Odinga family, the people of Kenya, and the global community that he so profoundly touched.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Signed,
